The talent pipeline and laying the groundwork: Your Marketing Week
At the end of every week we look at the key stories, offering our view on what they mean for you and the industry. From getting young people interested in a marketing career to the need to balance brand and performance, it’s been a busy week. I’m stepping in for Russell this week, so here is my take.
Positive steps
A few years ago Marketing Week did a big investigation into the looming recruitment crisis in marketing, given young people were failing to see it as a desirable career choice. We discovered there was a severe lack of information out there explaining the many varied opportunities a career in marketing can provide and that marketing had a bit of a perception problem.
