Thinkbox takes its message to TV

Thinkbox, the marketing trade body for broadcasters, is to launch its first television campaign.

The campaign will promote the benefits of advertising on television and “pay affectionate tribute” to some of the iconic ads of the past.

Thinkbox has not yet drawn up a media plan so details of which stakeholder channels and programmes will carry the ads are not yet available.

Mediacom will be involved in the planning and the ad has been created by The Red Brick Road.

Thinkbox marketing director Lindsey Clay says: “This is something we’ve wanted to do for some time and we’re delighted our shareholders have invested to make it possible.

Thinkbox members include Channel 4, Five, GMTV, ITV, Sky Media, Turner Media Innovations and Viacom Brand Solutions.

ITV executive chairman Michael Grade is to step down later this year.
