Thomas Cook appoints online brand chief
Thomas Cook, the travel operator, has bolstered its online brand with the appointment of Andy Tidy to the newly created role of director of thomascook.com.
Tidy was previously head of UP trips, a division of Thomas Cook that houses its main youth brands including Club 18-30 and Flexible Trips. Club 18-30 concentrates on resort-based holidays around the Mediterranean, while Flexible Travel aims to reach a more diverse audience with packaged travel to more than 1,000 destinations.
A search for a direct successor to Tidy is under way, with responsibility for the Flexible Trips operation being handed to director of Accommodation Only and Dynamic Packaging Chris Smith.
In his new position, Tidy will take over responsibility for the online brand with the current leadership team comprising Rakshit Desai and Tony Milsom reporting directly to him. Thomas Cook executive director of sales and distribution Robert Burgess will oversee the broader team.
Thomas Cook UK includes more than 570 high street stores, 120 bureau de change outlets alongside several travel warehouses and call centres.
