Thomas Cook is reviewing the £9m advertising business for its portfolio of brands. It follows the company’s merger with MyTravel last year.

Thomas Cook’s advertising is currently handled by Company of Angels and MyTravel previously worked with Clear Marketing. Both agencies have been invited to repitch for the enlarged account.

The review, which is being handled by Oystercatchers, will be overseen by Thomas Cook executive director of marketing Simon Carter. It comes just a week after former Abbey marketer Angus Porter joined the company as group strategy director.

The account includes the Thomas Cook, Airtours, Going Places, Direct Holidays, Thomas Cook Signature, CruiseThomasCook, Panorama, Manos and Cresta across holidays, independent travel and financial services.

The process is in its early stages and is expected to last for several months. The company is also reviewing its direct marketing account, which is being handled in-house, with a view to consolidating it into one account. It previously worked with agencies on a project basis.
