Thomas Cook rolls out branded cash machines

Travel company Thomas Cook has unveiled its first branded ATM offering customers commission-free cash withdrawals in sterling and euros.

The cash machine is located outside a branch in the company’s home town of Peterborough and Thomas Cook says it plans to roll out more ATMs in different locations around the country over the next few months.

The venture is a partnership with Raphaels Bank, which already owns an estate of foreign currency dispensing ATMs in the UK.

It is not Thomas Cook’s first venture into the banking sector. The brand already offers a range of financial services, including foreign exchange and a Thomas Cook branded credit card in conjunction with Barclays Bank, prepaid currency cards and travel insurance policies.

Ian Derbyshire, CEO of Independent Travel at Thomas Cook UK & Ireland, says: “The installation of this cash machine is a big step forward for us when it comes to foreign currency.”
