It is launching Thomson Couples to appeal to adults that want to enjoy a holiday experience without children – both theirs and other people’s.

The holiday operator claims that more than three quarters (79%) of adults admit their holidays have been affected by other people’s children and more than a third claim “hell is other people’s children on holiday”.

Thomson claims to be the first mainstream travel company to offer 100% child-free holiday resorts worldwide.

Thomson Couples has been designed to target younger couples to complement its existing Thomson Gold proposition, which is aimed at older travellers over 50.

Luke Gaskins, head of product development at Thomson says: “Thomson Couples is part of the company’s commitment to designing holidays around the differing needs of its customers.

“Family holidays remain incredibly important to Thomson, however we cannot ignore the fact that there has been growing customer demand for adult-only resorts that provide parents with the chance to relax and rejuvenate.”

From this summer Thomson will feature 19 exclusive hotels in destinations including the Algarve, Crete and Mexico.

The hotels are all 4 or 5 star and included in the Thomson Premier Collection and packages include additional benefits such as increased luggage allowance and priority transfers.
