The UK’s Top 100 most effective marketers revealed

One hundred marketers across 10 category groupings have been awarded a place in Marketing Week’s 2023 Top 100, sponsored by Digitas.

Marketing Week is proud to unveil 2023’s Top 100 Most Effective Marketers, sponsored by Digitas, a comprehensive list that represents the best of the best working in the UK marketing industry today.

The final 100 marketers, who span many categories across both B2C and B2B, were chosen based on their contribution to business success, for their impact and influence both within their company and the wider industry, and for their innovative thinking and leadership during what has been another challenging year.

To ensure we are able to cover as many sectors as possible, we have three new category groupings for 2023. Consumer goods, tech and automotive becomes consumer tech, manufacturing and automotive; regulated industries has evolved to become professional services, utilities, health and life sciences and we have added entertainment to the media and telecoms grouping.

Thanks to our illustrious list of judges who helped to determine the final 10 in each category grouping.

“The depth and breadth of achievement shown by those selected is hugely impressive,” says Russell Parsons, editor-in-chief of Marketing Week. “We have always cast our net wide but this year we have looked even further, beyond the excellent marketing leaders in marketing organisations from sectors and categories rightly but often lauded, and have included more from historically less celebrated places such as professional services, manufacturing and other B2B organisations.”

Jen Berry, UK CEO of Digitas, adds: “This year’s Top 100 shines a light on marketers who are committed to driving positive impact and propelling their businesses forward. Aptly, creating connections and making an impact is core to our business at Digitas, and it has been inspiring to see this reflected in this year’s Top 100 marketers. A huge congratulations to everyone who made the list.”

We will be hosting a session with three of the Top 100 – Tesco’s outgoing chief customer officer, Alessandra Bellini; Octopus Energy’s chief product and marketing officer, Rebecca Dibb-Simkin; and Costa Coffee’s global commercial, marketing and innovation director, Rebecca Brock – at Marketing Week’s Festival of Marketing on Thursday. They will be joined by Digitas’s Berry on a panel hosted by Marketing Week’s Parsons to share some of their failures and what they have learned.

In November, Marketing Week will also be unveiling a list of 10 ‘Future Marketing Leaders’, again in partnership with Digitas. The 10 rising stars will be selected from a long list of nominations from our Top 100 and other marketing leaders, based on their business impact, influence and ability as prospective leaders.
