Bridget Dowling, the former Ryanair sales and marketing manager, has been appointed as marketing chief for Travelodge Ireland. She will take over the role imminently.
She will have the title of head of group sales and marketing and will report to director of Travelodge Ireland Seamus McGowan.
He says: “These recessionary times have brought with them a huge opportunity for a brand like Travelodge. Corporates in particular are no longer willing to fork out exorbitant prices for unnecessary frills and we are confident this year the Travelodge brand will see substantial growth in the Irish market.”
Travelodge Ireland is a division of Travelodge, owned by Dubai International Capital. It runs 10 hotels in Ireland.
In April last year, Dowling was promoted from sale manager for Southen Europe to marketing manager Ryanair. John Booty has since replaced her.
