Turespana, the Spanish tourist board, is reviewing its £34m pan-European media planning and buying account. It is understood that the incumbent MPG is repitching for the business.
The Spanish tourist board is expected to announce a shortlist before Christmas, but it is not yet clear how many agencies will pitch for the account. MPG has handled the business since 2004.
In 2005, Turespana launched its £4m ad campaign in the UK with a strapline “Smile, You’re in Spain!” It has also used digital campaigns to promote local culture, arts, sport and food.
