Turkey £29m tourism pitch

The Turkish Culture and Tourism Office has called a statutory review of its advertising ahead of plans for a brand campaign next year. Wunderman is the global incumbent on the account and has been invited to repitch.

The Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism has invited agencies to pitch for the business.

The account is worth around &£7m in the UK, but the organisation spends &£29m globally.

A spokesman for the ministry says the successful agency may be required to create specific work for Europe and America, but there are also plans to appoint “a single agency capable of creating a global brand message”.

The ministry is contractually obliged to review its accounts every year and only appointed Wunder- man last November (MW November 24).

The previous agency, Turkish-based DDF International, had been retained for five years.

The deadline for tender proposals is August 31 and the ministry aims to make a decision by the end of September.
