Turner confirms new UK general manager

Turner Broadcasting, home of Cartoon Network, Boomerang, and TCM, has promoted former MySpace UK chief Anthony Lukom into the role of vice president and general manager for the UK and Ireland.

Lukom will be responsible for all commercial and channel activity alongside all content syndication. He will lead strategy across marketing and creative services, ad sales, digital and programming.

He has been acting general manager at Turner since May 2010 and reports to senior vice president and general manager for Northern Europe Pete Flamman.

He is also a former head of business development for AOL Europe.

Turner Broadcasting channels also include Cartoonito and Adult Swim while its brand properties include Scooby Doo and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Turner Media Innovations, the company’s ad sales department, worked with the Advertising Association to launch the online initiative the Children’s Ethical Communications Kit, which gathers all regulations in regard to marketing to children in one place, last year.
