Ubisoft recruits Microsoft Xbox marketer

Computer games publisher Ubisoft has appointed former Xbox marketer Murray Pannell as its new marketing director.

Pannell joins from the position of group product marketing manager at Microsoft. While at Microsoft he oversaw both hardware and software launches for the Xbox platform.

He replaces Jon Rosenblatt who has returned to rival publisher Electronic Arts as senior European marketing director for the company’s sports label.

He is also a former European marketing manager at Electronic Arts where he handled franchises such as Harry Potter and James Bond.

Before joining the gaming industry he was n account manager at Saatchi & Saatchi.

The French-owned company publishes games including Prince of Persia and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell.
