Unilever picks global head of Lynx brand

Unilever has promoted European category director for beverages Neil Munn to the newly created position of global brand director for Lynx, the men’s toiletries range.

Munn starts his new job on January 1 and will report to the senior vice-president of deodorants Geoffrey Probert.

Unilever is focussing on individual brands – the company has already appointed nine other global brand directors, overseeing brands including Persil, Organics and Signal (MW October 11).

Munn’s assumption of his new role will coincide with the launch of two Lynx variants – Dimension and Moon Grass – in the UK in January.

The company is planning to support the Lynx brand in the UK with a £9m marketing and advertising budget. TV advertising for Lynx Dimension is expected to start in February. Dimension will be supported by a £2m ad spend, and a £4m TV ad campaign for the Moon Grass variant will follow. Bartle Bogle Hegarty handles the Lynx brand, with media through Initiative Media.
