Vauxhall after-sales chief quits for consultancy role

Vauxhall is seeking a new sales and marketing director for after-sales following the departure of Jeremy Hicks, who has left to join a management consultancy.

Hicks has moved to Quadrangle, where he will be a director of one of its consulting divisions.

He spent 14 years at the car manufacturer, and worked in a variety of managerial and director-level posts, including one in its venture capital department.

The sales and marketing director post covers responsibility for Vauxhall’s dealer support and servicing, as well as its branded service and spare parts centres, Masterfit. Vauxhall’s after-sales service spent 4m on advertising last year, according to ACNielsen-MEAL.

Hicks says: “I thought it was time to broaden my horizons as well as to get involved with other areas of business.”

General Motors, which owns Vauxhall, has appointed advertising agency Lowe Howard-Spink to handle the 10m to 15m pan-European launch of its latest Frontera model.

LH-S beat McCann-Erickson, its rival GM European roster agency, to the business.
