VCCP wins O2 digital account

O2 has appointed VCCP to handle its digital account, reported to be worth £15m.

O2 said it wants the agency to make online a core part of its overall strategy. Under the deal the creative agency will look after strategic planning, social media, creative development and website build.

The digital marketing brief does not include digital media planning and buying and PR, which will be retained by existing agencies.

VCCP replaces Agency Republic which has held the account for eight years.

VCCP recruited Amazon’s UK head of serach Kristina Smith to the role of senior search strategist earlier this month (nma.co.uk 7 June). She will oversee the agency’s global expansion in search marketing, which includes recent forays into the US and German markets.
