Viacom senior VP makes move up at MTV Networks

MTV Networks International (MTVNI) has promoted Mark Jones to senior vice-president of Viacom Brand Solution International (VBSI).

He will continue reporting to Kevin Razvi, executive vice-president and managing director of VBSI, and will be based in New York.

MTVNI is owned by Viacom and includes the entertainment brands MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, The Music Factory and Paramount Comedy. VSBI represents the TV, digital and mobile channels.

Viacom has just posted a decline in worldwide advertising revenues of 3% to $1.35bn (£926m) in its fourth quarter earnings but revenue in its media networks division increased 1% to $2.48bn (£1.7bn) boosted by worldwide affiliate earnings.

Jones will oversee all sales functions for MTV Networks International’s North American portfolio of Viacom brands and will serve as the main conduit for dialogue and shared resources between MTVNI and MTV Networks USA.

Jones joined VBS in 2006 from the UK board of ZenithOptimedia. He spent 12 years with the agency and for the last six worked on the global Hewlett-Packard business.
