Virgin Holidays counters Three’s ‘Holiday Spam’ apology ads with witty reply
Virgin Holidays has urged customers to show off their holiday snaps with pride in a witty response to Three’s spoof apology to hapless consumers annoyed at the amount of social media holiday bragging since the operator removed roaming charges.

The travel business is running outdoor ads with Primesight claiming “Don’t be sorry #showoff with pride. You Look Delicious” alongside sunbaked selfies and “Hot dog legs” pictures that usually populate holiday albums. The ads were created by M&C Saatchi and LIDA.
Virgin Holidays hopes to co-opt the buzz around Three’s “Sorry for all the Holiday Spam” Wieden+Kennedy-created ads, which launched earlier this month (4 July) as a fun way to highlight customers can use their phones abroad without paying for add-ons. It spanned online (see below) and print, specifically referencing the jealousy inducing pictures of fancy cocktails, plane wings and street food likely to invade Three’s customers’ social media feeds as a result of the offer.
