Virgin Megastores, part of the Virgin Retail division, is ramping up its marketing department in a bid to boost its position on the high street.

It has appointed Stephen Lynn, previously marketing and relationship manager, to the newly created role of senior promotions, partners and PR manager and Pierre Houeix as advertising manager.

Lynn will be responsible for marketing communications for the Virgin Megastores brand, including new store launches through to third-party sales promotion. He will also be responsible for supporting the Virgin Digital team.

Houeix has been handed responsibility for media planning advertising.

Virgin Megastores marketing director Steve Kincaid says it has made the appointments because marketing has become more important as the market has become more crowded.

He adds: “In an ever-increasing competitive trading environment like ours, it’s vital that Virgin Megastores continues to be a major force going forward in our specialist sector.”
