The best communicators understand their companies inside and out and that can be said of Andrea Newman. Starting out as a temp at HSBC in the advertising department she has been crafting ways for the company to converse with its customers ever since. She says: “My biggest challenge is balancing my marketing, leadership and function objectives with spending enough time with my team.” She has been addressing the topic of gender marketing and the nuances of the bank’s communications. “Women do not want to be singled out as different. What they do want is to be treated with equal respect and gravitas from our advisors and staff,” she explained in a Marketing Week Q&A earlier this year.
