Annabel Venner

Annabel Venner joined specialist insurer Hiscox in 2009 to head up marketing in the UK before taking on the newly-created global brand director role in 2012 to help drive growth in key international markets. Prior to joining the insurer, she spent nine years at Coca-Cola where she managed the My Coke rewards scheme. She says that her biggest achievements include being made a fellow of The Marketing Society and Hiscox being shortlisted for the organisation’s annual Brand of the Year award alongside John Lewis and British Airways. A financial outlook has served her well, since she realised that understanding the key to a successful career is to see herself as “a driver of growth rather than as a marketer, which means that you have to learn to speak the language of everyone on the board”.
