Joby Russell is now responsible for marketing at online estate agent Purplebricks.com, where he’s aiming to grow the brand’s awareness as it offers an alternative to the status quo. Before that, as head of marketing, he put a giant rocket under Confused.com overseeing the introduction of brand icon Brian, which was so important that the 35-strong marketing team tested about 40 designs. Russell is a great advocate of mobile: “Anyone who does not understand how people interact on mobile will be left behind by nimbler businesses”.
