Paul Davies leads marketing for Microsoft brands including Windows, Office, Surface, Lumia, Bing & MSN in the UK and admits that “juggling everything I want to achieve with a fixed number of hours in the day is a challenge”. Personal development – both his and others – is high on the agenda. Davies is a sponsor and mentor of the Marketing Academy’s scholarship programme for emerging marketing talent and also sits on the executive committee of advertising body ISBA. He says his light-bulb moment was “realising how important a personal network is and being bold and courageous about who you choose to meet”. He adds that the people who have had the most profound effect on him “have been those who I dared to approach”.
