Head of digital and social media Justin Reid is leaving VisitBritain in September and will be helping recruit his successor.

VisitBritain recently unveiled its “You’re Invited” campaign with first television ad for nearly a decade and a strategy with a strong digital and social media leaning.

The London Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will both showcase the UK to the world next year and VisitBritain wants to drive visitor numbers on the back of the events.

The position will involve marketing on a global and local level and working with commercial partners and reports to marketing director Laurence Bresh.

Key VisitBritain digital properties include the Visitbritain.com website and LoveUK Facebook page, twitter, flickr, YouTube and the VisitBritain.tv video platform.
One of the vital media partnerships for the “You’re Invited” campaign is the tie-up with BBC Worldwide covering international TV and digital platforms. The ad will be seen on BBC World News in Europe and on BBC America.

VisitBritain is also the first advertising partner on the BBC Worldwide global iPlayer. The ad will appear as a pre-roll spot on the service, which will be available as an app for the Apple iPad.

The organisation recently restructured to adopt a more commercially-driven approach following a cut in funding.
