UPDATE; Walker Media has scooped The Evening Standard’s £4.5 million media planning and buying business.

Walker Media already handles media for national newspaper The Independent. The latter recently moved its back office operations in a cost cutting move into DMGT’s building where the Standard is based.

Starcom was previously the incumbent on the Standard. The newspaper was recently bought from Associated Newspapers by Russian tycoon Alexander Lebedev.

The Standard’s average net circulation for February was down 5.27% on the previous month to 277,552 and of this figure nearly 100,000 were “bulks”.

Former Tatler editor Geordie Greig has been appointed editor of the title and has replaced Veronica Wadley.

Starcom still works on Associated Newspapers’ free title thelondonlite.
