Npower has launched a Wallace & Gromit-themed digital campaign to help customers identify ways to save energy.

The “Wallace & Gromit Energy Saving House” is an interactive version of the characters’ house on 62 Wallaby Street. Customers can explore the eight-room, digital house on Npower’s Wallace & Gromit microsite to identify and learn about energy saving measures in the home.

The digital activity follows the launch of Npower’s television ad which also stars the characters.

It has been produced by Aardman Digital, the online arm of Aardman Animations, which created the original Wallace & Gromit series.

Kevin Peake, Npower marketing director, says: “Many people still view energy efficiency as something that isn’t especially interesting, but they could be missing out on substantial savings. We’ve worked with Aardman to create a fun and engaging tool that will hopefully entertain people while encouraging them to be more energy efficient.”

In August, the energy provider extended its sponsorship of test match cricket in England, until the end of the 2011 series against India.

Npower also launched a summer press campaign encouraging children to spend an hour with no power every day for two weeks as part of its “Climate Cops” summer holiday campaign for kids.
