Ware to head Millward Brown in US

Rosi Ware, managing director of UK research agency Millward Brown and one of the best known names in the industry, has been appointed president and chief executive of the group’s US operation. Millward Brown’s Canadian and Latin American operations will also report to her.

Ware takes over from the current president and chief executive officer of WPP-owned Millward Brown International (North America) Bob Meyers on June 1.

Meyers has been appointed to the newly-created post of chief operations officer for Millward Brown plc.

Ware, who will be replaced by Tony Copeland, currently overseas managing director, took the job as head of the UK operation more than four years ago. The company, which WPP group chief executive Martin Sorrell once described as “the jewel in WPP’s crown”, is best known for its advertising tracking studies and pre-testing techniques, but in recent years has applied its knowledge to areas such as sponsorship.

Ware spent two years as head of planning at Hoare Wilkins and four years as a board planning director at DMB&B. Before working in advertising, she helped set up Cadbury’s new product development unit and worked for Mars.
