WCRS ads bring Sky services together for first time

Sky%20adBSkyB has launched a new campaign that brings together its television, telephone and broadband services for the first time. It is the first work to be created for the satellite broadcaster by WCRS.

The See, Speak, Surf package costs £26 a month plus BT line rental, which Sky claims is at least £10 less than rival NTL’s offer. The high-profile ad campaign comes ahead of cable operator NTL’s relaunch next month as Virgin Media.

Sky says the deal is not a special offer but "everyday pricing", and will be available for new and existing customers. The campaign will break this week across broadcast, press and outdoor.

Chief executive James Murdoch says Sky aims to "challenge the established players" for bundled services and "raise the bar" for quality and value.

WCRS won Sky’s £75m advertising account in November last year, following a pitch against WPP Group’s Team Sky (MW November 30, 2006). It followed a breakdown in the relationship between Sky and WPP-owned incumbent agency United London in October.

The satellite operator approached WCRS to pitch for the business after the agency failed to win a place on the £20m BBC account.
