Weetabix names former FMCG marketer as CEO

Weetabix Food Company has appointed former Kimberley-Clark marketer Giles Turrell as chief executive officer.

He will take over in October replacing Ken Wood who is retiring after seven years in the role.

Turrell joins from Kimberley-Clark, where he is president of the European consumer business.

He has also held a number of senior marketing and management roles across different categories within the business and GlaxoSmithKline.

At Weetabix, Turrell will steer a “dynamic programme of marketing activity and product innovation” designed to strengthen the brand’s position.

Turrell says: “Weetabix is a robust and innovative business with a great portfolio of brands in a dynamic category.
