Westfield, the Australian shopping centre company behind the £1.6bn White City complex opening this year, has appointed Adam & Eve to its £5m advertising account. A consumer launch campaign, including press, outdoor and TV spots, will break later this year.

M&C Saatchi, The Red Brick Road and Leagas Delaney also pitched for the business in a review overseen by the AAR. Incumbent Beattie McGuinness Bungay (BMB) was understood to have resigned the account, which it won in November 2005, due to conflict with its Selfridges account (MW December 20, 2007).

Adam & Eve was launched by the former RKCR/Y&R senior management team of James Murphy, Ben Priest and David Golding, who left the agency last June.

Westfield London, which is being built near the BBC’s White City complex, will be the biggest shopping centre in Greater London with an area of 150,000 square metres. The development is being built on disused land alongside the West Cross Route and will include a new London Underground station on the Hammersmith & City line, opposite BBC TV Centre.

Earlier this year Wesfield handed its media planning and buying account to Arena BLM following a pitch through the AAR.
