WFCA wins 3m Multiyork account

WFCA, the Tunbridge Wells-based agency, has won the 3m integrated advertising business for Multiyork without a pitch.

WFCA, the Tunbridge Wells-based agency, has won the 3m integrated advertising business for Multiyork without a pitch.

The furniture retailer parted company with incumbent agency Anthony Ware Rust in July.

WFCA has a brief to increase awareness of the retailer’s reputation and “broaden its appeal”, as well as increase sales and the number of customers to its stores. Multiyork marketing director Sarah Herbert will oversee the campaign.

WFCA chief executive Michael Richards says: “Our job is a straightforward one as we just have to tell more people about it.”

The campaign will include television, press and outdoor, and will be supported by point-of-sale and online work. In the past, Multiyork has focused on direct mail, direct response TV and radio, alongside campaigns for seasonal initiatives such as winter sales.

Walker Media, which handles the retailer’s media planning and buying, is not thought to have been affected by the review.

The retailer denied reports last year that it was talking to agencies as part of a rethink of its marketing strategy (MW September 28, 2006).

Multiyork, which is based in Thetford, Norfolk, sells tailor-made furniture, including sofas, cabinets and accessories.

It does not offer sales through online because of its bespoke service, which allows customers to choose from 10,000 different fabric and leather coverings.
