What’s on TV launches online singing competition

TV listings magazine What’s on TV is launching an online search for singing stars to support its coverage of this year’s The X Factor. The singing contest called Sing2Win will launch on the magazine’s website.

Sing2Win will invite readers to submit a video of themselves singing, which will be featured on the site. The winner will receive a £1,000 prize.

What’s On TV was first launched online in January last year, offering users a TV listings guide, TV news and gossip and coverage of all the major soaps and popular TV programmes, and previews of the day’s must-see shows.

Publisher Mark Winterton says: “Whatsontv.co.uk’s X Factor coverage is always popular and we’re confident Sing2Win will generate even more traffic. We’re constantly looking at ways to develop the whatsontv.co.uk offering and this user-generated content will be a great addition to the site.”

IPC took the magazine on mobile Wap service two years ago, proving TV listings and content from shows such as “The OC” and “Lost”.
