WM Morrison to retain Safeway brand

Wm Morrison plans to retain the Safeway brand for the supermarket chain’s stores measuring less than 15,000 square foot if any renewed bid for the Safeway Group is accepted. This would mean that up to 121 stores will remain trading under the Safeway brand, subject to disposals in accordance with the Competition Commission’s report.
