WWAV Rapp Collins wins £6.5m NTL Home media brief

NTL Home, the consumer division of cable company NTL, has appointed WWAV Rapp Collins Media as its media planning and buying agency. The account is estimated to be worth about &£6.5m. The business was previously held by Carat.

Carat’s online media buying division, Carat Interactive, will continue to work on NTL Home’s online advertising. Separately, it will provide online media buying and planning for NTL Business.

NTL Home, which offers internet, digital TV and telephone services, comprises six regional units, each with its own managing director and sales and marketing team. WWAV Rapp Collins Media will be responsible for creating separate campaigns for each business unit. Future advertising is likely to include outdoor, regional press and direct mail.

NTL Home works with a variety of creative agencies across its geographical regions. In the Southern region, advertising is handled by Box of Tricks, while the Celtic region recently appointed Edinburgh-based creative agency Story. NTL Home also works with a number of agencies on a project basis.

Last November, NTL Home axed the role of marketing director, held by Jeremy Davies, as it shifted its focus away from a central marketing department to regionally based marketing teams (MW November 28, 2002).
