Yahoo confirms trio of executive departures
Yahoo has confirmed the exit of three leading executives: senior VP of audience, mobile and local David Ko, media head Jimmy Pitaro and Americas head Hilary Schneider.
The departure of Schneider prompted a notification from Yahoo to the US securities and exchange commission.
“Yahoo reported that Hilary Schneider, executive VP of the Americas region, will be leaving Yahoo after a transition period,” read the statement.
Media reports cited a leaked memo from Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz which said a successor to Schneider was expected to be announced by the close of the year.
“There’s a lot of interest in joining our team for such a key position and, in the meantime, Hilary will stay on to help with the transition,” read the memo.
The company also issued a separate statement explaining that Raymond Stern, senior VP of North American partnerships and business development, will assume Ko’s responsibilities.
Yahoo has yet to make a statement on who will take over from Pitaro.
