Yahoo confirms UK MD Rabe to depart at end of year

Yahoo has confirmed that its UK MD, Mark Rabe, will step down from the position at the end of the year.

The news of his departure broke last month although it had previously been reported that the move would take place in June. But Yahoo has confirmed to new media age that Rabe will vacate the UK role in December.

He will remain a Yahoo employee and will return the US.

Rabe was appointed MD & VP of sales for Yahoo UK & Ireland in June 2008. He oversaw the UK launch of Yahoo’s £61m integrated marketing campaign It’s Y!ou in October 2009 to mark the rebranding of Yahoo’s portal. He also took part in the launch of the company’s revamped Yahoo Network, which included Yahoo properties and those of display partners such as BT, Bebo and Europsort (nma.co.uk 8 September 2008).
