Yahoo! UK loses commercial boss

Yahoo! UK commercial director Alison Reay left the company last week, apparently without a job to go to. Her departure follows the appointment two weeks ago of Mark Chippendale, the ex-director of sales for Sky Media, to the new role of regional vice-president of media sales for Yahoo! Europe (MW August 25).

Reay has already been replaced by Blake Chandlee, who moves from Yahoo!’s New York office, where he was group category development officer for consumer packaged goods, retail and pharmacy.

It is understood that Reay has already been in discussions with potential employers, both in the online industry and outside.

Before joining Yahoo! in June 2002, Reay was business development director at Viacom Outdoor, and one of the key people involved in its abandoned next-generation London Underground advertising project, XTP, which involved giant poster-sized plasma display screens.

– Yahoo! is updating the search features on its e-mail service to enable users to find and index messages more easily. They will also be able to search attachments and view thumbnails of graphic images.
