Yorkshire Building Society seeks group marketing chief

Yorkshire Building Society is looking for a head of group marketing, following the appointment of its most senior marketer as head of e-commerce business.

Group marketing manager Linda Will is to “oversee and spearhead” e-commerce development. She now reports to operations director Rob Jackson.

The new head of group marketing will report to general manager for corporate affairs Iain Cornish.

A spokeswoman says: “There is a management restructure going on, which is part of the evolution of the company. It is time for us to look at the company and the structure within.”

But the company declined to divulge any more details of the restructure.

An insider says a new project is currently being worked on with BDS Beechwood. The agency handles creative for Yorkshire Building Society, and media is handled by Advertising Principles.

The company has never run any TV advertising, relying solely on the press. It is not clear, however, whether it is considering television advertising in the future.

Insiders also indicated that the new head of group marketing might review the agency situation.
