With A Level results being awarded to aspiring young marketers this week, long-running research from Nottingham Trent University has explored the shared characteristics of students embarking on marketing degrees.
The question of whether the marketing profession is attracting the talent it needs to thrive in 2022 and beyond is a topic up for debate. Not just from a skills perspective, but in terms of personality, values and approach to the work.
One university decided to explore this talent issue further. Back in 2011, senior lecturer in the marketing department at Nottingham Trent University’s business school, Tony Woodall, wrote an article asking if the industry is guilty of not addressing whether the marketers it employs are right for the job.
