Ann Fudge, the chief executive of Young & Rubicam Brands, is retiring at the end of the year. It comes just over a year after she relinquished her role as head of the network.

It is understood that the network is not currently seeking a replacement for her.

Fudge, a former Kraft Foods president, joined Y&R in 2003 to replace Michael Dolan. She took control of the whole WPP-owned network but it suffered a number of major losses, including Ford, Sony Consumer Electronics and Jaguar, under her leadership and she stepped back from the role in 2005. In June this year, Hamish McLennan, the former chairman and chief executive of Y&R Australia, took over as chief executive of Y&R.
