Carphone Warehouse and BSkyB are still interested in buying Tiscali’s UK business, according to reports, despite talks with BSkyB breaking down earlier this month due to the adverse economic conditions (nma.co.uk 9 March 2009).

Tiscali has almost 1.8m UK broadband customers, although no purchase is said to be imminent. Its broadband business has been up for sale since last year.

Previously BSkyB withdrew its bid for Tiscali’s UK assets after the companies were said to have disagreed over price. Tiscali was said to have expected £600m but the offer from BSkyB was around £450m (nma.co.uk 22 December 2008).
