Morrisons summer ad campaign, starring Freddie Flintoff, celebrates the Queen’s Jubilee and aims to emphasise the supermarket’s range of fresh products.

The ad campaign, timed to break this evening (24 May) ahead of the Queen’s Jubilee weekend, promotes a number of offers designed to help customers celebrate during the Jubilee bank holiday weekend.

It also features Morrisons’ own fresh food specialists who prepare food for a street party hosted within its aisles.

CEO Dalton Philips has previously stated that Morrisons will use its fresh food propositioning to differentiate from rivals and it is in the process of rolling out new store layouts that put greater emphasis of fresh produce and food counters.

Nick Collard, marketing and operations director at Morrisons, says: This is one of the most exciting summers we’ve ever had in Britain – and as a retailer – with the Jubilee, Euros and the Olympics all giving the nation a reason to get together and celebrate. We predict the coming weeks will be amongst our busiest ever with deals and promotions that will ensure that, whatever their budget, our customers can throw the best parties in town.”
