BT’s latest instalment of its student TV ad series is taking on a Spanish slant to coincide with the Euro 2012 final this weekend.

The ad, which will air during the Spain v Italy match on Sunday 1 July, sees the two male student characters coming to the aid of a group of female Spanish tourists by sharing their BT Infinity broadband connection.

BT retail marketing director David James says: “The new flatmates adverts have proved extremely popular and our latest instalment allows the characters to show our BT Infinity fibre optic broadband in action and builds on the buzz that everyone in the UK is feeling this summer.”

James told Marketing Week last month that BT’s student campaign has already achieved greater cut-through rates than its long-running Adam and Jane series.

The latest iteration of the new campaign will be supported by digital activity and partnerships with LoveFilm and BlinkBox. It was created by AMV BBDO with media planning and buying handled by Maxus.

Earlier this week, BT Vision was found to be the most complained about pay-TV service in the UK in the first three months of the year, according to Ofcom.

BT Vision attracted 27 complaints per 100,000 customers. Sky TV was the least complained about TV provider, attracting three complaints per 100,00 subscribers.
