MiniBrew

Described as the “most disruptive startup in the beer space” by Richard Branson earlier this year, MiniBrew claims to be the world’s first all-in-one, smallbatch beer brewing machine, simplifying the beer brewing process to allow anyone to create and experiment with their own beers at home.

Comprising a digital machine, mobile app and fresh ingredient pack, beer can be brewed in 3.5 hours, followed by fermentation of between four days and two weeks, depending on taste. The app also helps consumers to discover new beer styles that match their mood and allows them to replicate the beers they taste in bars at home, picking the same recipe and ordering the ingredients via the app.

The Utrecht-based company is the brainchild of co-founders Olivier van Oord and Bart van de Kooij, who launched MiniBrew on entrepreneur crowdfunding site Indiegogo in October 2015, raising £28,000 in just 20 hours. By March 2017, the startup had surpassed its crowdfunding goal by 337%.
