You know the situation: waking up with a fuzzy head from that media do the night before in desperate need of breakfast to sort yourself out. But when you get to the kitchen there’s no milk. Or cereal. Or bread. But fear not, help is literally just around the corner – a quick trip to your local cornershop and you’re all ready to go.

But how to show your gratitude for these unsung heroes of forgotten groceries? PayPoint have made a way with the Cornershop of the Year campaign.

Between now and Friday April 6, the bill payment and mobile top-up network is accepting nominations for the best local convenience store retailer in the UK.

Actress Sarah Jayne Dunn, Mandy Hutchinson in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, is fronting the campaign. You know, she’s the attractive blonde one. Actually, that’s not much help is it?You can download an entry form at www.paypoint.co.uk/cornershop-awards. Don’t forget to let the shop owners know, so they can promote their shop to other loyal customers.
