Future must be flexible

“Welcome to data dot.com” (DS Snapshots, 7th May) failed to note key distinctions between the different offers. Users need to ensure that their online service provider covers the basics/ any potential supplier that fails to apply the latest reference file updates fails at the first hurdle.

The user experience should be smooth; the system should be accessible and flexible, providing a solution for all users without limiting capability to the lowest common denominator. Some data cleaning services enable users to tailor job set-ups, reducing processing time.

Look for a supplier that regularly reviews both online and offline matching algorithms. The most effective online tools will also offer the right level of “real” support.

Finding the right solution for the business now and in the future is important; finding the right data/technology partner might be the key to gaining maximum advantage from online data management tools.
