J Walter Thompson and Ogilvy & Mather’s The Network are pitching for the business, although there is speculation that another agency may be shortlisted.

Kodak has been considering centralising the business in one agency across Europe to save money. However, sources say the company is still considering market-by-market and product-by-product solutions.

The two networks, both owned by WPP Group, became the photography giant’s creative agencies of record on Kodak’s global consumer business in February, when Young & Rubicam lost 30m of primarily European business.

The media roster across Europe for Kodak’s consumer division includes Y&R, which handles the bulk of the 6m business in the UK. Optimedia’s 1m Kodak business products media buying is thought to be unaffected.

The realignment and review was prompted by Kodak’s restructure of its marketing department on a global basis, rather than across product lines.
