Sony is launching a television advertising campaign through DDB International, devised by its London agency BMP DDB, to promote its PC-7 Digital Handycam camcorder. The 2m campaign features a series of unusual weddings, ranging from a happy couple skydiving from an aeroplane to a bride and a groom doing a reverse bungee jump. The commercial ends with the line: ‘The Sony PC-7 Digital Handycam. Perfect for things like weddings,’ and is accompanied by the Billy Idol track ‘White Wedding’. The campaign breaks across Europe and the UK on June 9.
