Your recent news story “Midland in 2m extravaganza” (MW September 11) mentioned Shelter’s partnership with Midland Bank. Midland has indeed supported our work in many ways, for example, funding The Network – a project aimed at tackling youth homelessness – running a promotion through its student accounts, and launching an affinity card.
However, your story wrongly implies that we are recent beneficiaries of a new sponsorship deal. This is not the case, and we would not want your readers – all of whom are our potential corporate sponsors – to feel that we were no longer in desperate need of corporate partnerships in order to continue our vital work with homeless people.
