TMD Carat hands King top broadcasting role
TMD Carat has promoted Dave King to the post of broadcast director, following the departure of deputy managing director Simon Rees to take up the post of managing director at MindShare.
King is Carat’s former broadcast development director and worked initially for Ulster and Granada Television before moving to the company in 1988.
Rees’ decision to leave TMD Carat after nine years was confirmed this week following months of speculation. Mandy Pooler, UK head of MindShare – WPP’s media operation – is to become chief executive. She says of Rees’ appointment: “He will be my partner in running the company. I am ecstatic. He was the only one I ever wanted for this job.”
Mike Wood continues as deputy managing director within MindShare. The agency is expected to appoint a head of TV later this year.
Rees left TMD Carat last week, but is still in negotiations over his start date at MindShare.
Further changes at TMD Carat following his departure see former director of TV buying Mark Jarvis promoted to director of broadcast negotiations.
Rees was on holiday this week and unavailable for comment.
