BT loses business chief in rejig

BT has lost the head of advertising for its business division, Adrian Fedyk, following a company-wide restructure.

Patrick Collins, head of direct marketing for the business division, also quit at the end of last week.

Both Fedyk and Collins – believed to be on three months’ gardening leave – reported to business division head of marketing communications Dominic Owens, who left BT in July.

The extent of job losses at BT is becoming clearer as the telecoms giant moves to appoint top-level marketing and advertising personnel in the wake of the restructure.

Head of direct marketing for the consumer division Nigel Grimes will now run both consumer and business direct marketing, with responsibility for a 70m budget. Grimes will spearhead a team of 16 and report to head of brand and corporate communications Tim Evans.

Head of advertising for the consumer division Sholto Douglas-Home began a two-year secondment to the Millennium Dome project in June.

His second in command, communications manager Katrina Lowes, has been tipped to take the combined consumer and business head of advertising job, but some company sources believe an outsider may be considered.
